Some customization options won’t be available immediately like the others are. In these cases, it means that the locked option has to be researched. Researching takes time, but can be accelerated by spending coins. There more coins you spend on your research, the faster it will go.

Once you complete research on an option, it will always be available, even if you decided to switch to a different customization option later.
